Introduction:

 

 

Module 5 introduces two concepts that are beyond the properties of linguistics, but that at the same time go in parallel with linguistic competence.  Discourse Analysis and Pragmatic Competences are indeed properties of languanges that assist the linguistic productions to achieve coherence into a specific context, so sentences and utterances can be interpreted as communicative.  Without these competences, linguistic productions could be then misunderstood, and thus communication among peers could be tangled and lead to chaotic communicative situations.
